Course Description

In this class, we will take a deep dive into the heart of the Levant. While modern headlines often focus on the tragedy of recent years, Syria’s story is one of unparalleled endurance, innovation, and cultural synthesis. This course offers a full-circle perspective on a land that has served as the world’s primary crossroads for over five millennia.  We will navigate the complexities of the 20th and 21st centuries, seeking to understand the deep-rooted identity of a people who have survived the rise and fall of countless empires. Join us for this exploration of the "Syrian Soul" and see beyond the ruins to the eternal horizons of Syria.
