Leadership skills for today’s executives are critical to the overall success of an organization and are beneficial in various sectors including profit, nonprofit, education, as well as government. Effective leadership techniques are highly desirable at many levels of management from HR managers to team leaders, to departmental and upper management. In the Executive Leadership Certificate program, learning will encompass how to deal effectively with uncertainty in the workplace, skill for creating and maintaining ethics in the workplace, and how to frame challenges facing businesses to successfully meet those challenges. Additionally, skill sets will be enhanced in communication, trust building, self-awareness, and motivating others to establishing and maintaining an audience's attention. This Certificate provides the participant with the knowledge to effectively manage uncertainty in the workplace; frame challenges faced by the business and maintain the attention of their audience. The participant will gain the skills to create and practice ethics in the workplace and communicate, build trust, self-awareness, and motivate others. Upon successful completion of the Executive Leadership Certificate program, the participant will be proficient in leadership skills at the executive level.
The Executive Leadership Program is 8 weeks in length. This program is offered fully online in a Self-Paced modality. Textbooks may cost up to $350.

Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the Executive Leadership Certificate program, the participant will be able to demonstrate proficiency in:

- Employing strategies to establish and maintain the audience's attention
- Exploring communication, trust building, self-awareness, and motivation
Notes
Program is offered in a Self-Paced modality, as it allows learners to study on their own time throughout the week. However, the Program has a defined start and end date, with no option to extend completion beyond its published end date. In addition, to ensure learners are able to complete the Program within its published time frame, there are specified deadlines and due dates for assignment and assessments (exams) submissions (no extensions may be granted).

What is Handshake?
Handshake is a career services platform created for students and alumni to use in their career development. It's used by over 200,000 employees, including all Fortune 500 companies! Thousands of internships and job opportunities are posted on Handshake by employers specifically looking to hire students.
All students have a Handshake account that is automatically created for them once they begin their program of study at the U. Once you receive an email notification, all you have to do is log into Handshake to activate your account. Handshake will then recommend certain positions to you based on your profile allowing for easy searching. Comparing and updating your profile will provide Handshake with a better idea of which job interviews/internships listings you may be interested in.
